Hold and Park

Putting a Call on Hold

Hold keeps the caller waiting on your phone only.

  • During a call, press the Hold button or soft key
  • The caller hears hold music
  • Press Resume to return to the call

Multiple Calls on Hold

If you have multiple calls on hold:

  • Use the navigation buttons to select the call you want
  • Press Resume to pick up that call

Parking a Call

Park places a call on hold so it can be picked up from any phone in your organization.

To Park a Call

  • During a call, press the Park soft key
  • Note which park line the call is on (shown on display)
  • The call can now be picked up from any phone

To Pick Up a Parked Call

  • Look at the park line buttons on your phone display
  • Press the button showing the parked call
  • You're connected to the caller

Hold vs Park - When to Use

Use Hold When...Use Park When...
You'll return to the call yourselfSomeone else needs to take the call
You're stepping away brieflyThe caller needs to be picked up from another location
You need to look something upYou're transferring the call to a specific person who will retrieve it

Tips

  • Parked calls are visible to everyone in your organization
  • If a parked call isn't picked up, it will ring back to you
  • Don't leave callers on hold or parked for too long
  • Let the caller know you're putting them on hold
