Adding a Forward

While phone numbers include built-in logic for handling after-hours routing, lunch breaks, holidays, and weather events, there may be times when you need additional conditional routing. Conditional forwards allow you to redirect calls based on a schedule or temporary situation—such as staff meetings, special events, or short-term availability changes.

Example 2: Forward to an Outside Number When a Schedule Is Active

This approach is useful for:

  • Temporary closings
  • Off-site events
  • Times when the main office is unavailable
Conditional routing ensures callers are never left without a path forward, even during unexpected or irregular events.
