Routing Extensions
Routing Extensions
Routing extensions are used to transfer calls back to a call flow after someone is answered. For instance, if someone calls sales and you want to send them to the tech support call flow, a routing extension would allow you to transfer the call to the correct group. It can also be used internally to allow users to call departments and reach the first available agent, etc.
A routing extension is defined with the following attributes:
| Extension | This is the extension number that is dialed to access the route. It’s usually 3-4 digits long. |
|---|---|
| Name | Names are used to identify the route internally. |
| Greeting | A greeting is an optional sound file which can be played before sending the caller to the route. |
| Go To | This is the call flow or other location in the system that the call will be transferred to. |
