Yealink T54W/T57W Setup & Provisioning
This guide covers setup and provisioning instructions for Yealink T54W and T57W desk phones for system administrators.
New Phone Setup
Step 1: Physical Setup
- Connect the Ethernet cable to the Internet port on the back of the phone.
- If using Power over Ethernet (PoE), the phone will power on automatically.
- If not using PoE, connect the power adapter.
- The phone will boot and display the Yealink logo.
Step 2: Request Provisioning
For new phones, open a support ticket with WebFones including:
- The MAC address of the phone (found on the label on the back of the phone)
- The extension number you want to assign
Step 3: Configure Provisioning via Web Interface
- Find the phone's IP address:
- Navigate to Status > IPv4 - Note the IP address displayed
- On a computer on the same network, open a web browser.
- Enter the IP address in the address bar (e.g.,
http://192.168.1.100). - Log in with:
- Password: admin (default) or 159753 (WebFones default)
- Navigate to Settings > Auto Provision.
- Enter the provisioning URL provided by WebFones.
- Click Confirm or Save.
- Click Auto Provision Now or reboot the phone.
Step 4: Verify Registration
After provisioning:
- The phone display should show the extension number
- The phone should show as registered in your WebFones admin portal
- Test by making a call to another extension
Re-Provisioning an Existing Phone
If a phone needs to be re-provisioned (moved to a new account, new extension, etc.):
Via Web Interface
- Access the phone's web interface using its IP address.
- Go to Settings > Auto Provision.
- Update the Server URL if needed.
- Click Auto Provision Now.
Via Phone Menu
- Press Menu or OK.
- Navigate to Advanced (password may be required - try admin or 159753).
- Select Auto Provision.
- Enter the new provisioning URL.
- Save and trigger provisioning.
Factory Reset
If you need to completely reset a phone:
Via Phone Menu
- Press Menu or OK.
- Navigate to Advanced > Reset Config.
- Select Reset to Factory.
- Confirm the reset.
- The phone will reboot with factory default settings.
Via Web Interface
- Access the phone's web interface.
- Navigate to Settings > Upgrade.
- Click Reset to Factory.
- Confirm the reset.
Network Configuration
Wired Connection (Recommended)
The T54W and T57W support Gigabit Ethernet:
- Connect to the Internet port for network access
- The PC port can be used to daisy-chain a computer
WiFi Connection
Both models have built-in WiFi:
- Press Menu > Basic > WiFi.
- Enable WiFi.
- Select Scan to find available networks.
- Select your network and enter the password.
- Save the settings.
Bluetooth Configuration
Enable Bluetooth
- Press Menu > Basic > Bluetooth.
- Toggle Bluetooth to On.
- The phone is now discoverable for pairing.
Pair a Headset
- Put your Bluetooth headset in pairing mode.
- On the phone, go to Menu > Basic > Bluetooth.
- Select Scan to find devices.
- Select your headset from the list.
- Confirm the pairing.
Mobile Phone Integration
You can pair your mobile phone to transfer calls between devices:
- Enable Bluetooth on both devices.
- Pair the mobile phone with the Yealink.
- Calls can be transferred between the desk phone and mobile.
Common Settings
Change Display Language
- Press Menu > Basic > Language.
- Select your preferred language.
- Save the setting.
Adjust Screen Brightness
- Press Menu > Basic > Display.
- Adjust the backlight and brightness settings.
- Save the settings.
Configure Time & Date
Time is typically set automatically via the network. To configure manually:
- Press Menu > Basic > Time & Date.
- Set the time zone, format, and manual time if needed.
- Save the settings.
Troubleshooting
Phone Won't Register
- Verify the Ethernet cable is connected properly
- Check that the phone has an IP address
- Ensure the provisioning URL is correct
- Verify the MAC address is registered in WebFones
No Audio on Calls
- Check the handset connection
- Verify the volume isn't muted
- Test with speakerphone to isolate the issue
- Check network connectivity
Phone Keeps Rebooting
- Verify stable power supply (use PoE or proper adapter)
- Check for network loops
- Ensure firmware is up to date
Can't Access Web Interface
- Verify you're on the same network as the phone
- Check the IP address is correct
- Try a different web browser
- Ensure no firewall is blocking access
