Setup Voicemail
Setup Voicemail
These instructions will help you record your Unavailable Message and Directory Name for voicemail.
For best audio quality, we recommend recording using your VoIP handset.
Setting the Unavailable Message
The Unavailable Message is the greeting callers hear when you cannot answer. It should identify who they’ve reached and guide them on what to do next. Example:
> “You have reached Joe Smith. If you need immediate assistance, press 0. Otherwise, please leave a message after the tone and I will return your call as soon as I am available.”
Steps to Record Your Unavailable Message
- Dial 77 + your extension number.
- When prompted, enter your Voicemail PIN.
- Press 0 for the Administration Menu.
- Press 1 to record your Unavailable Message.
- Record your message, then press # when finished
- Press 1 to save your new message.
Recording Your Name for the Directory
Recording your name allows the dial-by-name directory to confirm your identity when callers search using your last name.
Record only your name—no additional greeting.
Steps to Record Your Name
- Dial 77 + your extension number.
- When prompted, enter your Voicemail PIN.
- Press 0 for the Administration Menu.
- Press 3 to record your Name.
- Record your name, then press # when finished
- Press 1 to save the recording.
